As we continue to see a spike in COVID cases across the U.S., many are turning to at-home activities like reading for a safe form of entertainment this summer. Reading subscription service Scribd recently pulled platform data to see what people in the state of Illinois are reading these days, and here is the list of top five titles Illinois residents dug into (between June 1 and July 23) in case it’s of interest to you.
Scribd offers access to an unlimited number of full length books, audiobooks, and other content. You can read without limits because the information is available on all of your favorite devices. Scribd launched the world’s first open publishing platform in 2007. Today, it one of the best online services for readers providing over 150 million hours of reading.
Scribd found that during the month of June, readership of Ibram X. Kendi’s Stamped from the Beginning: A Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America (#1 most read on the list) increased by 3,260% on the platform. The list also includes Mary Trump’s scathing tell-all tale, Too Much But Never Enough: How My Family Created The World’s Most Dangerous Man, which sold 1.35 million copies in its first week.
