See Ice Sculptures Come To Life At Downers Grove Ice Fest

See a live ice carving demonstration and meet Elsa from Frozen at the Downers Grove Ice Fest Feb. 9 and 10.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Carved ice creations will glisten along the streets of downtown Downers Grove for the village's annual ice fest Friday and Saturday. Kids can watch a live ice carving demonstration, meet the Ice Queen and Ice Princess, and more during the weekend long event, which also includes special events and sales from downtown retailers.

Artists will carve ice sculptures live on Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the southeast corner of Main St. and Curtiss and on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the west end of the Main Street Train Station. The sculptures will remain up in town throughout the weekend.

Before heading out on Saturday, you can warm up at 1st Congregation Church's pancake breakfast, which takes place from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12.

On Saturday, Downers Grove Public Library will also hold a Winter Wonderland Celebration from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Kids can craft Valentine's, play games, and have a sing-along with Elsa and Anna from Frozen.
