Shell Casing Found On Desk In Downers Grove Library: Cops
The incident comes nearly six months after the library received threats for a Drag Queen Bingo show it had planned to host.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Police are increasing patrols around the Downers Grove Public Library after a shell casing was found inside the premises. The incident comes nearly six months after the library received threats for a Drag Queen Bingo show it had scheduled.
A library employee found the shell casing on a desk Wednesday morning around 8:30 a.m., a news release said. According to police no other shell casings had been found in the library.
Downers Grove police did not immediately respond to Patch's request for more information Friday afternoon.

In late September of 2022, a bullet was mailed to the DuPage County Courthouse address. The package also contained a letter that contained a homophobic slur and said there would be "more to come for Downers Grove Library."
As of Friday afternoon, police had not commented on whether the incidents were related.
