Some residents recently spoke out against a recent proposal to move a telecommunications tower located at Curtiss Avenue and Mackie Place.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A group of Downers Grove residents recently spoke out against a proposal to move a telecommunications tower located at Curtiss Avenue and Mackie Place, according to Shaw Media.
Village officials are weighing a proposal to move the 183-foot tower and replace it with a 199-foot tower that would be located about 270 feet east of the current location. The new tower will provide telecommunications services to residents, in addition to emergency dispatch services for the village and surrounding municipalities.
At a recent village meeting, some residents who live on Maple Avenue raised concerns about the tower's impact on property values and the risk of it falling.
