Stolen Cars Crash Into Each Other After Westmont BMW Burglary

Police say the crash took place at Main and Ogden in Downers Grove after at least three cars were stolen from Laurel BMW on Ogden.

WESTMONT, IL — Two stolen cars crashed into each other in Downers Grove as thieves fled a burglary at a BMW dealership in Westmont early Monday. Police say at least three cars were stolen from Laurel BMW of Westmont, 430 East Ogden Ave., just before 3:15 a.m.

The thieves used force to gain entry to the dealership's service bay, according to a news release. They then "fled in multiple vehicles," heading both eastbound and westbound on Ogden Avenue as police got the scene, the news release states.

Shortly after, two of the cars collided near Ogden and Main in Downers Grove, which caused one of the cars to become disabled. A suspect fled on foot, but was not taken into custody by police.
