Students in Biomedical Science Program Help Feed Starving Children

More than 40 Midwestern University students, faculty members, and their families spent time on January 14, 2015 volunteering to help feed starving children throughout the world. Students in the Biomedical Sciences Program packed food at the Aurora-based Feed My Starving Children organization, a non-profit Christian mission committed to feeding children hungry in body and spirit. The volunteers hand-packed 21,384 meals of specifically formulated food that will be able to feed 58 malnourished children for an entire year.

The Biomedical Sciences program at Midwestern University is a rigorous degree program that prepares students to pursue additional study at professional schools or for successful careers in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.

Students in all programs are encouraged to participate in service projects as an important part of the educational experience at Midwestern University. As a testament to this dedication to serving the community, the University has earned a spot on the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for the last seven years. This award is the highest federal recognition a college or university can achieve for its commitment to service and civic engagement.
