Tully Announces Bid For DuPage County Board

Downers Grove Mayor Martin T. Tully, whose final term as mayor expires in 2019, plans to run for DuPage County Board in 2018.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Downers Grove Mayor Martin Tully has tossed his hat into the ring to join the DuPage County Board in 2018. Tully, who has been mayor of Downers Grove since 2011, will reached his term limit as mayor when his term ends in 2019 and hopes to take this experience to serve a wider range of constituents in District 3.

During his time as a political official, Tully has served as a member of the District 3 representative for the DuPage County Mosquito Abatement Taskforce. As mayor, he has served as President of the DuPage Mayors & Managers Conference.

Before taking office on the Downers Grove Village Council in 2001, Tully was a founding member of District 58 Educational Foundation, a youth soccer coach for Indian Boundary YMCA and the Downers Grove Park District, and a part of multiple community organizations.

When he announced his bid for a seat on the DuPage County Board in 2018, Tully said, "It truly has been an honor to serve such a great community in a position of public leadership, and together we have accomplished some pretty terrific things." If elected to the board, he will serve parts of Downers Grove, Hinsdale, Burr Ridge, Darien, Lemont, Clarendon Hills, Woodridge, Willowbrook, Westmont, and Naperville.

The DuPage County primary election is set to take place on March 30, 2018, with the general election taking place on November 6, 2018.
