Two House Fires Reported Last Week in Downers Grove
Both fires were under investigation with the Downers Grove Fire Department.
No one was injured in a blaze Thursday at a home in the 300 block of 55th Street in Downers Grove that caused around $100,000 in damage, according to the Daily Herald.
The blaze "centered in the kitchen" and extended up into the attic with smoke "coming from the roof and eaves" of the home and the cause of the fire is under investigation, according to the article.
No one was in the home at the time of the fire, according to Suburban Life Publications.
Firefighters also responded to a blaze about 10 a.m. on Feb. 11 that appeared to start in the chimney area at a home in the 5600 block of Brookbank Road, according to the Suburban Life Publications.
The homeowner and a family dog was inside at the time and both were able to get out with injury, according to the article.
