Unload Unwanted Items At Recycling Extravaganza In Downers Grove

During the event, residents can recycle electronics, furniture, personal documents and more.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Greener Grove will host a Recycling Extravaganza on Sept. 19, giving Downers Grove residents a chance to unload unwanted furniture, electronics, clothes and other items.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the parking lot of the Belmont Metra station.

The following items will be accepted for recycling:

  • Electronics
  • Furniture
  • Bicycles
  • Household textiles
  • Clothing
  • Smoke alarms
  • Books and other media
  • Medical equipment, glasses, hearing aids
  • Prescription medicine

Residents can also drop off personal documents to be shredded and recycled. A fee is applicable for monitors and flat televisions that are 21 inches or more.

During the event, attendees can bring paper goods and nonperishable food items that will be donated to FISH Pantry.
