Vape Store Burglarized, Car Stolen: Downers Grove Blotter

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A tobacco and vape store was burglarized and a car that had a gun inside it was stolen, according to the most recent crime blotter from the Downers Grove Police Department.

American Vape and Tobacco Burglarized

Police say someone burglarized American Vape and Tobacco at 4242 Main St. The victim told police someone got in through the west door of the shop and stole various items. The incident took place sometime between 2:40 a.m. and 2:52 a.m. on Nov. 10.

Car Stolen in 2000 block of Prentiss Drive

A resident told police that they saw someone driving away in their 2022 Kia, which had been parked in the 2000 block of Prentiss Drive and had a loaded gun in the center console. They told police they had started their locked car, which was parked near the apartment building's main door, just before it was stolen. The car was later found locked and unoccupied in Chicago, but the handgun was missing, the police blotter said.
