Vehicle Sought After Armed Robbery Reported In Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Police in Downers Grove are asking for the public's help finding a vehicle they say is linked to an armed robbery that took place Saturday afternoon.

According to police, the robbery took place in the 6500 block of Powell Street around 2:12 p.m. Two people had arranged to meet at this address for a sale, but one of the people drew a handgun and demanded cash. He then fled south on Powell Street in the vehicle pictured above, police say.

The car was described as a 2011 Hyundai Sonata with Illinois license plate number DP26250. The vehicle, which had damage visible on its front end, had previously been reported stolen.
