Village Commissioners Praise Proposal For New Dealership On Ogden Avenue

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — On Tuesday, Downers Grove commissioners and village staff expressed favor for a proposal to build a new car dealership development at 330 Ogden Ave.

The 2.97-acre parcel currently comprises a used car dealership at 310 Ogden Ave. and a Lamborghini and Bentley dealership at 330 Ogden Ave. that were formerly operated by Perillo. The site and its current dealerships were acquired by Fields Motorcars in late 2025.

Petitioners have proposed a two-phase construction project to build a 36,245 square ft. dealership. Phase one would include work to replace the building at 310 Ogden Ave. with a 18,812 square foot Rolls Royce service center and showroom, along with a 3,456 square foot mezzanine.

Phase two would include demolishing the building at 330 Ogden Ave. and adding 17,433 square feet to the 310 Ogden Building that would house Lamorghini and Bentley showrooms and an automotive service center.

The amendment had its first reading on June 9, with village commissioners praising how the project aligns with the Guiding DG Comprehensive Plan.

Commissioner Martin Tully said, Tully said, "It's in the right place, it's the right use, it has the right bells and whistles, it's better than the prior proposal and it is a perfect example of usage of TIF-eligible expenses where we invest a dollar and get a lot more than that back over the long run."

A prior proposal had been to renovate the existing buildings, but they will both be demolished under the new concept.

The project will be eligible for TIF reimbursement once both phases are completed. Developers aim to wrap construction by June 30, 2028

Commissioners will vote on the amendment at the next Downers Grove Village Council meeting, scheduled for June 21.
