Village Reviewing Cause of Outdoor Warning Siren Delay
Four attempts were made to turn on the sirens, starting at 8:07 p.m.

The Village of Downers Grove is trying to find out why initial attempts to turn on outdoor warning sirens failed the night of Aug. 18.
Four attempts were made to turn on the sirens, starting at 8:07 p.m., according to the village.
Fulton Technologies, the siren vendor, was contacted after they sirens didn’t sound, and the company was able to turn the sirens on remotely at 8:13 p.m.

The sirens passed their most recent monthly test on Aug. 4.
A full review is being conducted by the village and Fulton Technologies to find the cause of the delay, and results will be shared with the public.
