Wallet Stolen At Panera Bread In Downers Grove

Police are looking for two suspects who stole a wallet from a woman's purse at Panera Bread in Downers Grove.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Police are looking for two male suspects who stole a wallet from a woman's purse at Panera Bread in Downers Grove. The theft took place on Dec. 6 at 1400 Butterfield Rd.

The victim told police she went to Panera at approximately 11:30 a.m. to do some work on her laptop. Police say she had her purse to the right of her when two males sat down at a table near her. The victim then heard noises that sounded like someone was going through her purse.

When she checked her purse, she realized her wallet was missing. At that point, the males both stood up and left on foot, heading westbound toward Best Buy.

One suspect was described as a tall white male with shaggy hair. Another customer who was sitting nearby described the second suspect as a Hispanic male, standing roughly 5'7" tall, with short black hair, brown eyes, and no facial hair. He was last seen wearing a navy blue jacket and dark pants.

Police are working with Panera and Best Buy to obtain video surveillance footage.
