The premiere date for “The Curse of Downers Grove” is set for Aug. 21 in select theaters, but you can watch the trailer right now.
The movie stars Bella Heathcote as Chrissie Swanson, a Downers Grove High School senior who believes she’ll be the next fatal victim of a curse that brings a gruesome death to one teen each school year.

The movie, also starring Lucas Till, Penelope Mitchell, Tom Arnold and Kevin Zegersand, is based on the the 1999 novel “Downers Grove” by Michael Hornburg. The film is directed by Derick Martini from a script co-written by Martini and Bret Easton Ellis, author of the novel “American Psycho.”
The Blu-ray and DVD release for the film is set for Sept. 1.
