Wheaton Man Filed False Police Report In Downers Grove: Cops

Junies D. Henry-Caldwell was charged with disorderly conduct after police say he made a false report saying he was an armed robbery victim.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A Wheaton man was arrested after police say he falsely reported he was the victim of an armed robbery. Junies D. Henry-Caldwell, of the 700 block of Liberty Drive, was charged with disorderly conduct and violation of bail bond in connection with the Nov. 22 incident.

Police say Henry-Caldwell called them to the fifth floor of a parking garage in the 900 block of Curtiss Street, saying he had been robbed at gunpoint and his bag had been stolen. He told police he could see the people who robbed them by the Citibank near Main and Curtiss Streets.

According to police, they did not find anyone matching the description Henry-Caldwell gave. Police say they asked people in the parking garage if they had seen Henry-Caldwell speaking with anyone or taking his bag. They responded that they had not, police say.

The police report states that officers found Henry-Caldwell's bag near a trash can by a stairwell on the fifth floor of the parking garage.

They say Henry-Caldwell responded, "I forget things" and responded, "No, I forget where things are. Thanks for finding my bag," when asked if anyone had robbed him.

Henry-Caldwell was also issued a warning about trespassing and was taken to DuPage County Jail.
