Woman Assaulted in Bristol Club Apartments

 A Downers Grove woman was physically assaulted Monday morning in her apartment at the Bristol Club Apartments in the 5800 block of Walnut Avenue, Downers Grove police report.

The woman told police a man approached her outside the apartment at 11:06 a.m., saying he knew her family. After a brief conversation, the woman attempted to enter her apartment. The man followed, pushing her inside where he physically assaulted her, police said. A stun gun device was used during the assault.

The woman's screams prompted the man to flee before police arrived on the scene.  The man was described as white, in his late 50s to early 60s, with a heavy build and black and gray hair.  He was wearing a black leather jacket, dark blue jeans and sunglasses, police said.

The incident appears to be isolated, police said. They are asking anyone with information to contact the Downers Grove Police Department at 630-434-5600.
