Woodridge Couple Charged In Baseball Bat Beating Robbery

Cops say couple beat man with bat and then took his cell phone and cash at a Woodridge apartment complex.

A couple has been charged with robbery and aggravated battery after they allegedly beat a man with a baseball bat during a robbery at a Woodridge apartment complex Monday evening.

Woodridge Police responded to a call of a battered victim at the Mobile Gas Station at 75th Street and Woodward Avenue around 7 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a man who had been severely bruised and beaten in the face.

The man told police he was beaten with a baseball bat by two individuals, later identified as Taurion Moore, 24, and Jemica Lee, 22, at the Windsor Lakes apartment complex.

Police said the man’s cell phone and cash were stolen during the beating. The man was later transported to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove for treatment.

Moore and Lee, of the 7300 block of Woodward Avenue, appeared in bond court on Tuesday. Bail was set for Moore at $125,000. Lee’s bail is $80,000. Both are being held in the DuPage County Jail in lieu of 10 percent of bail.

The incident remains under investigation, Woodridge Police said.
