Linh goes on to say that, “The insurance industry plays a critical role in managing risk and protecting people's financial security, a lack of diversity and inclusion could result in products and services that perpetuate systemic biases and inequalities. Even with the aid of AI technology, the solutions given are only as good as data it was given to work with. For example, women may be charged higher premiums or offered lower coverage limits due to outdated assumptions about their risk profiles, which can perpetuate gender-based discrimination and exacerbate existing disparities.”
