• East Moline School District's new transportation zones raise safety concerns (ourquadcities.com) — Families in the East Moline School District are learning that busing between Learning Tree Child Care in Silvis and Bowlesburg and Ridgewood elementaries will end after this school year, raising safety and convenience worries. District leaders say new walking and biking zones, a nearby path, and crossing guards will support students, but some parents and staff fear winter weather and work schedules will make the change difficult. 
• THROWN debut new single "split" along with official music video (lambgoat.com) — Metal band Thrown is bringing their tour to East Moline’s Rust Belt on May 13, sharing the bill with In Flames, Distant, and Upon Stone. The stop comes as they promote their new single “split” and its official music video, part of a broader North American run with several heavy acts.
• AKWAABA QC to host first citizenship workshop for Quad Cities immigrants (wqad.com) — Immigrant residents in and around East Moline can get free, one-stop help completing their U.S. citizenship applications at Christ United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 25. Nonprofit AKWAABA QC will guide participants through paperwork, provide DOJ-accredited legal review, and even prepare applications for mailing, aiming to ease test worries and remove costly legal barriers for local families.
