• Golden Corridor YMCA closing its Taylor Y branch in Elgin (chicagotribune.com) — Elgin's Taylor Family YMCA on McLean Boulevard will close Oct. 1, with leaders citing years of repair challenges and lingering financial strain from COVID-19. About 400 Elgin members can transfer to the Schaumburg branch at current rates through December, while the Y explores plans for a new facility in Elgin and continues school-based programs locally.
