Andrew Cuming Announces Candidacy for Illinois’ 43rd State House District

Father and business owner challenges Anna Moeller for State House

Andrew Cuming, a business owner and father, released the following statement today announcing his intention to run for the 43rd State House District, challenging incumbent, Anna Moeller:

“I am running for state representative because it’s evident that our current representation is more concerned with protecting her reelection efforts by appeasing Speaker Madigan, than providing a better future for constituents in the 43rd District. She voted to increase our taxes on taxpayers and businesses alike, provided no relief for homeowners, and voted to bailout Chicago on the backs of our schools. I cannot sit idle any longer, as Anna is set on pillaging the pocketbooks of our residents and businesses to continue Illinois’ fiscal mismanagement. Our children’s futures are at stake, and I will protect and create opportunities for future generations to succeed. I am an independent mind that will stand up to both parties to enact true and lasting reforms.”

Andrew knows that challenging the political machine and Speaker Madigan’s legislative cronies will take a monumental effort, but his commitment to his community, family, and business has shown he is more than up for the task:

“At the beginning of every session, Anna’s first vote is to support Mike Madigan as Speaker. By casting her vote for Speaker Madigan, Anna is continuing to sell out her own constituents to Chicago, continuing to raise our taxes, and forcing individuals out of their homes and our state. I will go to Springfield to provide equitable funding for our schools, lower the tax burden on our residents, and establish pro-growth reforms so businesses and people want to come to our state, not flee it.”

Andrew was born and raised in New York. He attended Northwestern University in Evanston. After graduating as an engineer; he started a web design company that assisted small businesses and non-profits in Elgin.
