Man Found Fatally Shot At Park In McHenry County: Coroner

SPRING GROVE, Ill. — A 35-year-old Spring Grove man was found dead with a gunshot wound in a neighborhood park earlier this week, authorities said.

According to Michael Rein, the McHenry County Coroner’s Office was contacted April 13 by the Spring Grove Police Department to investigate the death of Kyriakos “K.C.” Iatropoulos, 35, of Spring Grove.

Officials said Iatropoulos was found at Spring Dale Trails Park with a gunshot wound to the head.

An autopsy was conducted April 14, according to Rein. Toxicology results are pending.

The coroner’s office said it is continuing to work with the Spring Grove Police Department and the Spring Grove Fire Department as the investigation remains ongoing.
