Another Suspicious Incident Reported In Elgin

A person in a dark-colored vehicle allegedly took photos of juveniles and then drove away Wednesday afternoon, police said.

ELGIN, IL — Authorities in Elgin are asking for the public's help in tracking down a person accused of taking photographs of juveniles in the area of Nesler Road and Gansett Parkway Wednesday afternoon, authorities said. Police say the individual was in a dark vehicle, took the pictures and then quickly drove away, according to a post on the Elgin Police Department Facebook page.

The incident occurred at about 3 p.m. The person involved did not make any contact with the juveniles, according to police.

The incident comes after a string of similar incidents were reported nearby in the Providence subdivision in recent weeks. During many of those incidents, a male driver followed females, and during at least one incident, took pictures of children.

Elgin police are continuing to provide extra surveillance in the area following the incidents, authorities said Thursday.
