Author Karen Kelly Hosts Successful Book Launch for Angels on Your Pillow

(Elgin, IL) June 13, 2017---Karen Kelly of Hoffman Estates explained to guests how guardian angels can show unconditional love during her recent book launch of “Angels on Your Pillow” at Ola La! Ijorere in Elgin.

In front of friends, family and local residents, Kelly described her work as a picture book for all ages. The story presents an inquisitive little girl with unanswered questions about an angel that her mommy puts on her pillow every night. Guardian angels surround the child in her moonlit bedroom though she cannot see them. In the end the angels find a way to make sense of it by leaving an acronym for the word ANGELS on the child's chalkboard.

“Guardian angels are all around us,” she said. “They can’t be seen but we feel them in our heart,” she said. “Once people allow themselves to feel loved because of the unconditional love God sends through the angels, then love comes upon those people and then they can share that love with others and pay it forward

Guests like Tamika Lecheé Morales, owner of Liberty Tax in Elgin and a teacher in Elgin’s District U46’s dual language program for second graders, brought some of her students and their siblings. She hopes more authors like Kelly would do events like this one to encourage the joy of reading to children. She also likes the book’s message.

“Truthfully, a lot of children believe in angels,” Morales said. “Angels just represent mystical and beautiful creatures who are so willing to help. They represent happiness and love and I think it’s phenomenal.”

Morales invited parents like Veronica Rosas and her children Valeria and Emilio Guzman of Elgin. The family was very excited meeting Kelly and they are big believers in guardian angels.

“When Mrs. Morales showed me the picture of the book, it reminded me of the time I was a child—that I believed in angels on my pillow.” Rosas said. “I have a guardian angel and God sent my two angels—my kids!”
