Authorities Investigate Elgin Bank Robbery
The bank robbery happened Wednesday evening.

Authorities are searching for a bank robber who held up a bank in Elgin Wednesday evening. The Elgin Police Department was called to the bank in the 1600 block of Larkin Avenue at about 6:40 p.m. A suspect entered the bank, demanded cash and then fled the bank with an "undisclosed amount of currency," according to a post on the Elgin Police Department Facebook page.
The FBI is currently investigating the bank robbery with assistance from Elgin detectives.
Anyone with information regarding the suspect is encouraged to call 847-289-2600. Anonymous tips or information can be provided over the crime line at 847-695-4195 or by texting 847411 and including ELGINPD in the beginning of the text along with the message and/or tip information.
