Bartlett Woman Cited in Crash That Killed Teen
Bartlett police cited Angelika E. Rol Vel Rul of Bartlett for failure to yield in an April 7 crash that killed Susanna Kaleta of Chicago.

BARTLETT, IL - A 27-year-old Bartlett woman has received a citation in an April head-on crash that killed Susanna Kaleta, 17, of Chicago, the Daily Herald reports. Following an investigation into the April 7 crash, authorities determined Angelika E. Rol Vel Rul or Bartlett did not yield the right of when turning left from Route 59 onto westbound West Bartlett Road in Bartlett. This lead to a pickup truck, which was heading south on Route 59, to cross over the centerline and hit a northbound box truck.
Kaleta, a straight-A student and captain of the soccer team at Chicago Academy High School, was a backseat passenger in the pickup truck, according to media reports.
The driver of the pickup truck, a woman in her 20s who was reportedly Kaleta's cousin, was airlifted to Good Samaritan Hospital and the other passenger in the truck, a male in his 20s, was taken by ambulance to a hospital, the Chicago Tribune reports. The driver of the box truck was also seriously injured.

An online GoFundMe page was set up to "help aid in the financial burden that comes with a death in a loved one" following Kaleta's death. So far, over $9,500 has been raised.
