Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley, 56 S. Grove Ave., Elgin

Support local theatre and PADS of Elgin with a special benefit performance of Bullets, Nickels, Dimes and Life by Jeremy Kehoe.
Directed by Pat Henderson, the production runs October 9–11 at Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley, 56 S. Grove Ave. in Elgin. The Friday, October 9 performance will benefit PADS of Elgin, with additional proceeds from the production also supporting the organization.
Guests attending Friday’s performance are invited to a complimentary reception catered by Sugar &amp; Rhyme Coffeehouse beginning at 6:30 p.m., followed by the performance at 7 p.m.
The benefit takes place just ahead of World Homeless Day on October 10, offering audiences a chance to enjoy live theatre while supporting PADS of Elgin’s year-round shelter, meals, outreach and housing-focused services for individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Northern Kane County.
The cast recently visited PADS of Elgin for a shelter tour before rehearsal, giving performers an opportunity to learn more about the organization and the community their benefit performance will support.

State Rep. Anna Moeller is hosting her annual Youth and Family Resource Fair on Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm, at the Gail Borden Library to bring together community organizations, educators and local leaders to support young people and their families. 
The fair connects attendees with a variety of volunteer opportunities, after school programs, health and wellness resources, community resources,&nbsp; and career readiness tools. 
“I look forward to our Youth and Family Resource Fair each year because it gives us the chance to invest in our young people and connect families with resources and make a meaningful difference in their lives,” Moeller said. “I appreciate all our community partners for working together to help our youth have the resources they need for success in and out of the classroom." The fair will have around 24 vendors from across the community. Light refreshments will be provided for attendees.
