Convicted Drug Dealer Jailed For Dealing Drugs Again

He has drug dealing convictions from 1998, 2004 and now 2017.

GENEVA, IL — A convicted drug dealer is returning to prison for his third drug delivery conviction, according to a press release from the Kane County State's Attorney's Office.

Roosevelt Williams, 41, of the 500 block of Walnut Avenue, Elgin, was sentenced Friday to 12 years in prison. He was found guilty in August of selling an undercover officer 1.1 grams of cocaine for $240 in February of 2016. The transaction happened about 800 feet from a church, the press release said. It's a class X felony.

Williams waived his right to a jury. Judge David Kliment handed down the 12-year sentence as part of "enhanced sentencing" due to his 1998 and 2004 convictions of delivering drugs.
