Cosmetics Company To Open First U.S. Plant In Elgin
Faber-Castell Cosmetics announced it would be coming to the city.

ELGIN, IL -- A German cosmetics company will open its first U.S. manufacturing plant in Elgin, according to the Daily Herald. Faber-Castell Cosmetics, which makes eyeliners, is expected to bring a new $9 million state-of-the-art plant to the city but has not yet revealed the exact address of its facility. The 40-year-old company plans to move by the end of this year with 10 to 15 workers, initially, but will create 50 full-time jobs in the next three years, according to the article.
"We are planning to start shipping in the first quarter 2019," Christina Zech, managing director of Faber-Castell Cosmetics, told the Daily Herald.
