Elgin Community College received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from GFOA.

Elgin Community College received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, presented by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). This certificate is the highest rating awarded in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. ECC has received this award each year since 2004.
“It is an honor to receive the GFOA Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for our fourteenth consecutive year,” said Dr. Kim Wagner, Interim Vice President of Business and Finance. “This award recognizes the college’s dedication to transparency and communication to our community through excellent financial reporting. The teamwork required to earn this award is grounded in ECC’s shared values of excellence, accountability, and collaboration.”
The Certificate of Achievement is awarded annually to governmental units that publish an easily readable and efficiently organized comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) whose contents conform to program standards. The CAFR must satisfy generally accepted accounting principles in the United States and applicable legal requirements.
