Colombia is becoming one of Latin America’s most attractive destinations for international exporters and investors. With the fourth largest economy in Latin America, Colombia has seen steady economic growth in recent years. Illinois exports to Colombia totaled $520 million in 2018, a 91.6% increase since 2009, and Colombia is Illinois' 22nd largest export market. The Colombian economy has a rapidly growing base of middle-class consumers as well as diversifying industries. The United States has a Free Trade Agreement with Colombia that bolsters bilateral trade.
