Elgin Man Accused In Attempted Sex Assault Of Teen
Jon Fischer of Elgin remains in custody on a $3 million bail.

Prosecutors announced last week that an indictment has been filed against a 67-year-old man charged with attempting to sexually assault a teen girl in her bedroom in Elgin last month, the Daily Herald reports. Jon Fischer of Elgin also faces charges of aggravated domestic battery and unlawful restraint in connection with the July 19 incident. On that same date, Fischer holed himself up inside the Elgin home where the alleged assault occurred when police arrived, which lead to a three-hour standoff.
Fischer is accused of entering the girl's room at about 9 a.m. on July 19 and at one point, pushing her onto her stomach, placing a pillow over her head and pulling down her pants, according to a July article on the Daily Herald. Police arrived and were able to escort the girl out. The three-hour standoff included SWAT teams who were called to the scene and involved condoning off of the neighborhood, according to media reports.
A friend was eventually able to coax Fischer out of the home.
