Elgin Man, Convicted Of Fatal 1995 DUI, Gets Another DUI
He killed a person in a 1995 crash and was convicted of aggravated DUI and involuntary manslaughter.

ELGIN, IL — An Elgin man, who was convicted of killing a person in a DUI crash over 20 years ago, was charged again with DUI in Elgin.
John Boutzarelos, 53, of the 400 block of North Alfred Avenue, was arrested at around 3 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, after an officer saw him driving the wrong way on Kimball Street, the Daily Herald reported records as showing.
He smelled of alcohol, failed a field sobriety test and had a .104 blood-alcohol concentration, a chemical test revealed, according to the Herald. He was driving a 2017 Cadillac CTS.

Boutzarelos was convicted of aggravated DUI along with involuntary manslaughter (reckless homicide) from a 1995 crash, the Herald reported.
Boutzarelos posted bond and is due in court on Dec. 28. As his charges upgraded to felonies, he faces up to six year in prison, potentially part of an enhanced term due to his past record.
