Man Starts Home On Fire During Domestic Dispute: Authorities
A 60-year-old Elgin man allegedly doused a home with gas and set it on fire last week.

ELGIN, IL -- A warrant has been issued for a 60-year-old Elgin man accused of dousing a home with gasoline and setting it on fire during a domestic dispute last week. Fire crews were called to a reported home explosion in the 900 block of Carol Avenue shortly after 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 6. The caller told police a man at the home was threatening bodily harm while dumping cans of gasoline inside the house, police said.
When fire crews arrived at the scene, they found heavy flames coming from the front of the home. Police also responded and found the caller a block away from the home.
When they approached the front of the residence, the home exploded.Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire and confirm that no one was inside the home. Two patients were treated at the scene of the blaze and one was taken to St. Joseph Hospital for further treatment.

Police searched the area and found Larry Harris, 60, of Elgin, in the backyard according to a statement from the Elgin Police Department.
Harris has been charged with residential arson, a class 1 felony, criminal damage to property, a class 4 felony, and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor, for his alleged role in starting the blaze, police said. As of Monday afternoon, Harris was not in custody and a warrant had been issued for his arrest, CBS Chicago reports.
