Fake Parking Stickers Issued In Downtown Elgin Area: Police

Police said the stickers have not been issued by the city or Downtown Neighborhood Association and are not being enforced.

ELGIN, IL – Police are warning residents of fake parking violations that have issued in the downtown area in recent weeks. Stickers, which warn the motorist they are illegally parked and their car is at risk of being towed, were not issued by the city or the Downtown Neighborhood Association, according to a Facebook post from the Elgin Police Department.

The Elgin Police Department shared a photo of the parking sticker on its Facebook page.

Anybody who may have received the sticker or ticket in the downtown area is asked to call Brooke Rzeppa at 847-289-2573.

Enforcement action is not being taken based on these stickers, according to police.
