Pedophile Sentenced for Raping Young Girl He Knew

ELGIN, IL - A 76-year-old Elgin man could spend the rest of his life in prison after he was sentenced Tuesday to 15 years in prison for sexually assaulting a victim under 13 years old in 2006, the Daily Herald reports.

Robert R. Jahnke, of the 1200 block of Country Club Road, pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse to a victim younger than 13 and to felony predatory criminal sexual assault of a child younger than 13, according to the newspaper. All three charges that he entered guilty pleas to are in regards to a sexual assault and sexual abuse from April 2006.

Additional felony sex assault and sex abuse charges were dismissed by prosecutors, according to the article.

Jahnke was initially charged with sexually assaulting two young girls he knew between August 2005 and August 2008 and between January 2005 and January 2009, according to a January article in the Daily Herald. Earlier this year, he was also charged with sexually assaulting a third victim between February 2015 and June 2016.

Jahnke was also ordered to register for life as a sex offender.
