Utility Maintenance Could Cause Trail Delays in Elgin

Bikers and walkers could experience brief delays or intermittent closures between Raymond Street and National Street on June 5-30.

Elgin users of the Fox River Trail and Illinois Prairie Path may experience brief delays or intermittent closures between Raymond Street and National Street, June 5-30, due to scheduled utility work. Crews will be cutting back trees for access to utility poles, and ComEd will be upgrading equipment in the area, according to a news release. The Forest Preserve District of Kane County asks trail users to be mindful of the construction project, and that workers, vehicles and equipment will be on the trail in this area.

Trail users may experience periodic closures. Signs will alert trail users to the project. During construction, contractor staff will be on site to guide trail users around equipment, according to the news release.
