14U Cougars Win West Chicago Showdown
A rained-out Saturday forced a quick sprint to the finish on Sunday, May 18th for the 14U Elmhurst Cougars baseball team.
A rained-out Saturday forced a quick sprint to the finish on Sunday, May 18th for the 14U Elmhurst Cougars baseball team. Three victories earned the championship of the Seminole Sports West Chicago Showdown. A 6 – 4 win over the Illinois Edge, and a 8 – 3 win over the Carol Stream Cougars, was capped-off by a 6 – 5 championship game victory over the Illinois Hitmen.
The Cougars are, in alphabetical order, Elliott Achepohl, Michael Achepohl, John Arends, Joey Chiapetta, Andrew Deardurff, Bobby Grimes, Luke Landis, Brian May, Charlie Pakenas, Michael Pastuovic, Scott Tucker, and C.J. West.
This Cougar team is a member of the Elmhurst Cougars Baseball and Softball Club. Formed in 1992, the Cougars are Elmhurst’s oldest full-time youth travel baseball and softball organization. For their 22nd year the Cougars are fielding eight baseball and three fast-pitch softball teams for youth aged 8 through 15.
