2 Domestic Disturbances In Elmhurst: Cops

A local woman was arrested after an argument turned physical, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving domestic battery, trespassing, harassment, a death, a sidewalk fall and identity theft. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Domestic battery

  • A 22-year-old Elmhurst woman who lives in the 800 block of Addison Avenue was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 800 block of North Addison Avenue on two counts of domestic battery. An argument turned physical. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of South Berkley Avenue. A person struck a man in the head, causing an injury. The suspect refused to leave the house, but was arrested without any problems. An arrest warrant for domestic battery was obtained.

  • A 52-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lake Street and Grand Avenue on a charge of criminal trespass to a motor vehicle. The victim was Penske Leasing Rental in Franklin Park. He was released.

Harassment

  • A resident in the 200 block of East Adelia Street told police Monday that a suspect made several derogatory statements in voicemails. An officer spoke with the suspect and advised him not to communicate with the resident.
  • A resident in the 500 block of North Adele Street told police Tuesday that a suspect had been banging on her door and windows and that she didn't want him on her property. The suspect was issued a no-trespass notice.

Suspicious

  • A suspicious person was reported about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday near Hawthorne Elementary School, 145 W. Arthur St. The person refused to speak with officers or paramedics. The person did not appear to be a threat to himself or others.

Death

  • Elmhurst police and medics responded about 2 p.m. Wednesday to Larry Roesch Chrysler Dodge Jeep, 200 W. Grand Ave., for a report of a person inside a transport truck who was not breathing. The person was determined to be dead. An investigation is pending.

Sidewalk fall

  • A man fell on the sidewalk about 4 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of East Webster Avenue, causing a cut underneath his right eye. Medics treated the man, who refused to be taken to the hospital.

Identity theft

  • A man tried to buy a car with an identification belonging to someone else about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Al Piemonte Buick, 364 W. Grand Ave. The man left before officers arrived. He was described as black, 6-foot-2, 170 to 190 pounds, and wearing a yellow florescent hoodie, gray pants, gray shoes and a dark baseball cap.
