2 Elmhurst Dealerships Burglarized: Cops
In one case, the suspects left a car running in the garage, report says.
ELMHURST, IL — Two Elmhurst dealerships were burglarized early Sunday morning, apparently by the same men, police said.
According to a police report, a burglary took place about 6 a.m. at Ed Napleton Acura, 745 W. Lake St. Officers responded to a burglar alarm. The southwest service door had been broken, but nothing was taken, police said. A representative of the business showed up and reviewed video, which revealed that a gray Dodge Durango pulled up to the door and three men forced entry to the service door, according to the report.
Minutes after the first alarm, an officer checked the nearby Larry Roesch Chrysler, 200 W. Grand Ave., and saw four men quickly leave the dealership, entering a gray Dodge Durango, police said. They sped away, last seen heading west on Grand. The officer said he discovered a window broken in the east service door. A car was left running in the garage, police said.
