2 Elmhurst Residents Accused Of Domestic Battery: Cops

One of them was drunk and battered three people, according to a police report.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of domestic battery, burglary, DUI and trespassing. Here is information from the reports:

Domestic battery

  • Refugio Fernandez-Ortiz, 50, of Elmhurst, was arrested about 11 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of West Butterfield Road on six counts of domestic battery. Police said a drunk Fernandez-Ortiz battered three people. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Deborah Wunderlich, 56, of Elmhurst, was arrested about 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of North Myrtle Avenue on two counts of domestic battery. Police said Wunderlich grabbed a woman, with an altercation following. The woman had fresh injuries to her forearms. Wunderlich was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Burglary

  • Danna Marie Bien, 41, of Essex, Missouri, was arrested about 4 p.m. Thursday in the 600 block of North Larch Avenue on a charge of burglary without causing damage. Police said Bien stole a man's personal belongings and a TV from a company truck. Bien was identified as the suspect. The items were recovered. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

DUI

  • Jeblin Cifuentes-Carrillo, 27, of Melrose Park, was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of North Ridgeland Avenue on charges of aggravated DUI, transportation of open alcohol and driving with a revoked license. Police said they received a call about a driver asleep behind the wheel. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Trespassing

  • Carlos Lopez, 30, of Chicago, was arrested about 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Elm Lawn Pet Cemetery, 401 E. Lake St., on a charge of criminal trespass to property. Police said Lopez used a knife to open a locked bathroom after being told he could not go in. He was released on bond.

Warrants

  • Nicole Egeland, 28, of Villa Park, was arrested about 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Pick Avenue and Rose Street on DuPage County Sheriff's Office warrants. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Robert J. Sammarco, 34, of Chicago, was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Saturday at Myrtle and North avenues on a McHenry County Sheriff's Office warrant and charges of unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver and no registration displayed. He was released on bond.
