2 Elmhurst Residents Among Those Charged: Police

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police have arrested people on charges of criminal damage, DUI, retail theft and driving violations. Here is information from police reports:

Criminal damage

• Pamela Van Balen, 73, of Elmhurst, was cited about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Elmhurst Center for Health, 1200 S. York, on a charge of criminal damage to property. She was released on bond.

Warrants

• Christoper Kazmierczak, 26, of Elmhurst, was arrested about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at West and Fremont on a DuPage County Sheriff’s Office warrant and charges of driving with a suspended license, unlawful possession of medical marijuana in a motor vehicle, no seat belt and failure to signal when required. He was released on bond.

Retail theft

• Edward Walker, 38, of Bellwood, was cited about 4:30 p.m. Monday at Jewel, 153 Schiller, on a charge of retail theft. He was released on bond. According to a police report, Walker concealed groceries in his backpack and left the store without paying for them.

DUI

• Latodd Kelly, 41, of DeKalb, was arrested about 3 a.m. Wednesday at Roosevelt and York on a DeKalb County warrant and charges of DUI and no driver’s license. She was released to the DeKalb Police Department.

Driving violations

• James Brown, 46, of Bellwood, was arrested about 8 p.m. Tuesday on an Illinois State Police warrant. He was released on bond. Brown turned himself in at the Elmhurst police station.
• Madison Brunner, 24, of Chicago, was cited about 9:30 p.m. Monday at West and Alexander on charges of driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured vehicle and disobeying a stop sign. She was released on bond.
• Ayana Charlea Sanders, 20, of Rockford, was cited about 1 a.m. Wednesday at Roosevelt and Route 83 on charges of driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding. She was released on bond.
