2 Elmhurst Street Projects Planned
The city aims to fully replace the existing roads and install new curbs and gutters.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst aldermen this week approved the reconstruction of two residential streets.
One of the projects is Van Buren Street, from Spring Road to the dead-end at Salt Creek.
The other is Crescent Avenue, from Poplar Avenue to its dead-end just east of Edgewood Avenue. This section of the street goes by Van Voorst Park.

The projects received four bids. The city chose the low bidder, Addison-based R.W. Dunteman Co., which came in at $1.5 million.
Under the contract, the company will fully remove the existing roadway and install new curbs and gutters. The work is planned this summer.
