2 Thieves In Oak Brook Go To Prison: Officials
The pair, along with four others, stole nearly $15,000 in items from a store's shelves, authorities said.
OAK BROOK, IL – Two of the six people who burglarized an Oak Brook beauty store in 2021 are headed to prison, authorities said Monday.
Peaches P. Johnson, 30, and Roy Crane, 22, both of Chicago, were sentenced to three years on burglary and retail theft charges, officials said.
In the early evening of Nov. 12, 2021, five of the suspects, all wearing hoodies and ski masks, ran into Ulta Beauty, 2155 W. 22nd St., prosecutors said in a news release. At least three of them pulled out garbage bags and cleared off shelves of fragrances, police said.

During the crime, Oak Brook police were notified by Chicago police that a vehicle suspected of being involved in illegal activity in Norridge was in front of Ulta, the release said. By the time officers arrived, the suspects were gone.
The suspects' car was seen on Interstate 294, prompting Hinsdale police to shut down the highway and take the suspects into custody, the news release said.

Two juvenile suspects have pleaded guilty. The other suspects, Kamal J. Hoskins, 26, and Darnell Profit, 21, are set to go before a judge in April. They are all from Chicago.
In all, the suspects were accused of stealing 153 bottles of fragrances, totaling nearly $15,000.
“The quick apprehension of the defendants in this case and the significant consequences for their criminal conduct sends the message that in DuPage County, we will do everything we can to protect our businesses and shoppers by holding violent offenders accountable and law enforcement will use all resources, including shutting down a highway, in order to catch anyone suspected of committing a violent crime," DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in the news release.
