2nd Accidental Shooting In Elmhurst: Cops
Man goes to the hospital because of an injury he suffered after his gun goes off, report says.
ELMHURST, IL — For the second time in a couple of days, a gun accidentally went off in Elmhurst, police said.
About 10:30 p.m. Saturday, a man said he was walking downstairs in his house to put his gun away when he missed the last step, causing him to accidentally shoot himself in the leg, according to a police report. Officers responded to Elmhurst Hospital, where the man went for treatment of his gunshot wound, police said.
On Friday afternoon, a man told police his gun accidentally went off while he was adjusting his pants at a strip mall in the 500 block of West North Avenue. The man suffered a graze wound to his right leg and was taken to Elmhurst Hospital for treatment, police said.
