3 Men Charged With Theft In Elmhurst: Police

The men are accused of stealing a catalytic converter from a work van.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of theft, DUI, prowling and driving violations. Here is information from the reports:

Theft

  • Darren D. Warren, 25; Dequan M. Jefferson, 26; and James Armstrong, 25, all of Chicago, were arrested Thursday on charges of possession of stolen essential motor vehicle parts and theft. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail. According to a police report, they stole a catalytic converter from a work van in May in a parking lot in the industrial park in the 900 block of North Oaklawn Avenue. After an investigation, the three men were found in an apartment in Chicago.

DUI

  • Jay Jarvis, 43, of Elmhurst, was arrested about 7 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of East Schiller on a charge of DUI. He was released on bond.
  • Tod Chapman, 59, of Glen Ellyn, was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Sunday at York and Third on a charge of DUI. He was released on bond.

Prowling

  • Rashawn Hubbard, 20, of Chicago, was cited about 8 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of North Addison on a charge of prowling. Three juveniles face the same charge. They were released on bond. According to a police report, Hubbard and the others were loitering near the northeast stairwell of a parking garage. They were released to their parents.

Driving violations

  • Jose Torres, 34, of Chicago, was cited about 10 a.m. Saturday at North and Indiana on a charge of driving with a suspended license. He was released on bond.
  • Javonn Boykin, 30, of Chicago, was cited about 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Columbia on charges of driving with a suspended license and speeding. He was released on bond.

Warrant

  • Marcin Proszek, 41, of Chicago, was arrested about 7:30 a.m. Friday at Lake and Grand on a warrant and a charge of expired registration. He was released on bond.
