5 Elmhurst Teens Cited In Underage Drinking Busts: Cops
In another case, youths trespassing at a vacant house ran away from an officer, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – Police handled a number of cases involving younger people in the last few days. Here is information from the reports:
- Three 18-year-olds – an Elmhurst woman, an Elmhurst man and an Oak Brook man – were cited about 11 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of North Ida Lane on charges of consumption of alcohol by minors. Police said they were drinking in the public right-of-way. They were released on bond.
- Three 18-year-old women from Elmhurst were cited about 4 a.m. Sunday in the 400 block of West Belden Avenue on charges of possession or consumption of alcohol by minors. One of them was driving; she was charged under the "zero tolerance" state law banning an underage person from any consumption of alcohol before driving. They were released on bond.
- An officer responded to a report of six youths trespassing about 8 p.m. Friday at a vacant house in the 1000 block of South Riverside Drive. Six youths ran toward Eldridge Park upon seeing the officer. Damage was found to the storm door, window and garage wall.
- A man told police that his daughter was approached by a suspicious youth who offered to sell her mints about 10 p.m. Thursday in the 600 block of South Mitchell Avenue. The youth left the area before police arrived.
