6 Charged At Elmhurst Underage Party: Cops
In another case, a person was found lying under a stopped train, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving an underage drinking party, a person lying under a train, a burglary, DUI and fugitive drivers. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Underage party
- Six Elmhurst men – 19 and 20 years old – were charged about 9 p.m. Thursday in the 400 block of South Prospect Avenue on charges of consumption of alcohol by minors. Police said the men were at a loud party. They were released.

- Police were called about a person lying underneath a stopped train about 6 p.m. Thursday at York Street and Park Avenue. The person, who appeared to be suffering from a mental issue, was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
Burglary
- A person with a face covering entered an unlocked car and rummaged through the interior compartments about 2 a.m. Friday in the 400 block of South Washington Street. Nothing was stolen.
DUI

- A 32-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 2 a.m. Friday at Villa Avenue and Lake Street on charges of DUI, unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver, driving an uninsured car, transportation of open alcohol, failure to signal, improper turn and improper lane usage. He was taken to the police station and then released.
- A 33-year-old Berkeley man was arrested about 11 p.m. Friday at York Street and Prairie Path on charges of DUI, possession of marijuana and failure to give information after a crash involving vehicle damage. In the same incident, a 32-year-old Tinley Park woman was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct involving befouling property. They were taken to the police station and then released.
Fugitive drivers
- The driver of a white Toyota Camry that was stolen in Highland Park was speeding east on North Avenue from York Street about 2 a.m. Friday.
- An officer tried to stop a driver with an improperly displayed registration about 10:30 p.m. Friday at York Street and North Avenue. The driver sped away, last seen heading east on North Avenue.
- An officer tried to stop the driver of a gray Ford Escape about 9 p.m. Saturday near North and Glade avenues. The driver sped away, last seen heading east on North Avenue.
