$7M Project Planned At York High
The work is expected to last more than a year, an official said.

ELMHURST, IL – York High School is expecting to see a much-improved auditorium in a couple of years.
The auditorium is one of the bigger projects included in the $168 million bond issue that voters approved in 2018.
It is set to cost $7 million, but Elmhurst School District 205 expects that the price tag could increase by $700,000. That's likely because of recent inflation.

The project includes resloping the floor and replacing seats, flooring, the orchestra shell, lighting and stage equipment.
The school board will vote on bids in November, officials said.

The project is expected to last from June 2023 to July 2024.
"We would keep it for a whole year," Todd Schmidt, the district's director of facilities, told the school board last week. "There's a lot that's going on with the stage rigging in that building. It's a big project."
